Product Description
Set of vintage Bookends from the mid to early 1900s.
A Cowboy rides atop a rearing Bronco holding up above his head a length of rawhide rope, while his other hand cinches back upon the halter. In the backdrop beyond its meadow is a hill outlined with trees and a country road leading to a stables entrance, perched within this view.
The material seen under magnification is similar to that of finely grounded wood pulp, with flourlike material interspersed. Its appearance on the bottom bases is likened to a wood like surface.
They are from an era different than today and have been well cared for when many have not. With fewer of this once sought after yet curious art medium, what remains only becomes rarer.
Syroco Company (1890-2000) was once best known for late Victorian designed interior decorative products, which were made from wood pulp and fashioned into molds to resemble hand-carving. Later into the 1960s injection molding became more common as it is today.

Condition: Very Good! Other than some normal wear to the metal painted surfaces, that extrudes underneath the books their fashioned to retain. They appear likely similar to when originally sold, yet of vintage and pre-owned.
