African Painted Maasai Warrior Mask, Kenya
Product Description
This African Maasai Warrior Mask’s design, as with choice of wood and coinciding color is of quality, and likely created by an artist whose skills were seasoned with dedication to traditional arts.
The exotic wood appears to be of African Padauk, with a hint of "amboyna" burlwood. Its reddish brown color, moderate stout weight and stiffness; makes for a unique wood in creating such a form.
At its top a string has been set to allow displaying, but anywhere placed is well to attract attention.
This was a part of a collection (see "East Africa Painted Maasai Warrior Mask" ID# ending with 3980) that spanned from Kenya to Ghana.
